The new Mac Pro with M2 Ultra chip combines groundbreaking performance and PCIe expansion for demanding workflows. It boasts a 24-core CPU, up to a 76-core GPU, and double the memory and SSD storage of its Intel-based predecessor. With up to 192GB memory and 800GB/s unified memory bandwidth, it surpasses workstation graphics cards.
This is a Tower model that includes: a 24-core CPU, 60-core GPU, M2 Ultra processor with 64GB memory and a 1TB SSD.
The Mac Pro supports seven Afterburner cards, delivering the performance of seven cards in one. Its media engine, shared with Mac Studio, handles 22 streams of 8K ProRes video. Compared to the Intel-based model, the Mac Pro with M2 Ultra runs video transcoding and 3D simulations up to 3x faster and handles real-time encoding of 24 4K camera feeds on a single machine.
For professionals who rely on internal expansion, the Mac Pro offers seven PCIe slots, with six supporting Gen 4 for faster customisation. From audio pros needing DSP cards to video pros requiring SDI I/O cards, the Mac Pro enables system expansion for the most demanding workflows.
Connectivity is enhanced with eight Thunderbolt 4 ports, supporting up to six Pro Display XDRs. It also includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, three USB-A ports, two high-bandwidth HDMI ports (up to 8K resolution, 240Hz frame rates), two 10Gb Ethernet ports, and a headphone jack for high-impedance headphones.
